Mark Slusser - (b. 1955) is a resident of San
Diego with roots in Utah where he earned his BFA in Painting and Drawing
from the University of Utah in 2005. He is a well traveled artist who has
frequently painted the majestic Utah landscape, as well as the incredible
Monterey coast. In 2008, Mark moved to San Diego with his family, where
he loves to paint the beautiful and diverse scenes of southern
California. “Plein air” painting has become one of his great passions.
Mark
also has long been interested in the resurgence of the American Realist
Movement. He loves to paint portraits, particularly figures in a
narrative style similar to the Pre-Rafaelite painters of the 1800‘s and
the portraits of John Singer Sargent. He paints figures, florals, still
lifes, landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, and portraits with the
confidence and style of a mature painter.
Mark is
available for commissioned portraits. He also teaches drawing and
painting at his San Diego studio. If you would like to visit Mark at his
studio to purchase a painting, arrange for a portrait or private lessons,
please feel free to contact him at 801.864.1918 or by email at
